Do some atheists cherry pick verses from the bible?

I watched a creationist's video earlier where he accused atheists of cherry picking verses from books such as Deuteronomy or Leviticus. He said we don't read the entire passage, just the "good" stuff.

So do some atheists cherry pick verses from the bible?

No doubt we do to an extent to show a point or the like.
But the accusation could also be levelled at christians along with the accusation that they choose to say some bits are "fact", some are open to interpretation, some are no longer "relevant" etc.

The bottom line is if christians are going to cite the bible as being "proof" of a god then the whole bible should be used not just passages.
Otherwise I could use Harry Potter to prove wizards and monsters could I not.
